Carol Lee Hall was born and raised in Oakland, California. She graduated from the
University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in linguistics
and immediately began her teaching career at a private school in
Oakland, then San Leandro. For the next thirteen years, she taught third
grade and directed the school’s drum and bell and flag corps.Carol began freelance writing when her daughter started kindergarten and has written several articles for local newspapers, magazines and websites. She has also written marketing brochures, newsletters, grant letters and proposals and is excited about the publication of her first book, For Those Who Serve: A Devotional for Church Volunteers released in February 2004. She also writes her own eBay ads and sells home decor products at bargain prices through her eBay store, Treasures for Your Home. Besides writing, Carol volunteers in various church ministries and at her daughter’s school. Since she became a Christian, Carol estimates that she has volunteered for about 90% of the church areas open to her such as choir, Sunday School teacher, babysitter and Vacation Bible School helper. While she’s not writing or volunteering, Carol likes to solve crossword puzzles, play Scrabble, swim and bike ride. She enjoys traveling with her family and has recently journeyed to the Canadian province of Alberta, Disney’s California Adventure and Hawaii.
